...that makes 12 now in the last couple of months, but this time it's a good thing - I've got some doxycylcine (anti-malarial) to replace the larium. It's only 50/= (2.5p) a tablet too, so it's dirt-cheap - 5000/= (GBP2.50) for 100, which lasts 100 days - 8 months' worth of larium cost 110 quid.
Anyway, still pretty knackered, and not quite better, so now I've got a cold, as well as Giardia - HOORAH!! So, still in Iringa - couldn't quite face the journey back to the village today. Just as well, because I broke one of our jars of jam this morning, so I've now had an opportunity to replace it. Went for pineapple this time, which I haven't previously tried, so good things come out of bad, I suppose.
Excuse the rambliness, but I'm not quite with it today. We had a silly disco last night with another NGO who were staying at the Bankers' Academy with us - they're working with SPW and several other organisations on a massive base-line survey of youth and reproductive health in Iringa town - it will take 40 of them about 2 months to interview about 3000 youth, I think, and that's before they even start collating the data.
Couldn't drink because of the medication (boo-hoo) but Nick and I looked perfectly dashing in our new shirts, and took coconuts with us (what, they caught our eye in the market, alright?). Ended up going to bed quite early, although in reality it was well past my village bedtime (about half eight), so I still didn't sleep anywhere near enough.
There was a performance beforehand by SPW Talents, who are a performing troupe made up of secondary school students, and they pranced around in face paint for a while (I know I make that sound really crappy but it was actually really good). Took some photos, but everytime a good opportunity came, they all started running about, waving their hands in the air, and moved out of shot just as I took the photo. Don't know how they'll come out. Now nearly finished my sixth film, so will be buying some more before too long!
Gonna finish this now, because there's not much time left, and frankly I've nothing more to say to you all.
Phil ;)
