...Went running on the beach and cliffs in Exmouth on Sunday (made it onto the cliffs for the first time since getting back) and then my left hip started hurting. As if I haven't been unwell enough the last eight months! Anyway, this is now officially a recurring injury; it's just unfortunate that it's an injury that has a rather irritating habit of recurring five miles into an eleven mile run. Yesterday was not fun, but it's much better today.
The last few days have been interesting - spent lots of pennies on Thursday on new waterproofs and a digital camera, as well as three DVDs courtesy of the £20 of HMV/Waterstones vouchers I found in my bedroom drawer. Then I went into Exeter Uni to see the people I used to work with, and to see what admin work is going there (freshers' week next week, so should be helping out then, at least). Also went to Dartmouth last Wednesday, which is a lovely town, and bought some trousers there.
Still getting on with PGCE application and finding out what I can do in France (I think just winging it is the best option). Might be going to Oktoberfest to meet my brothers next month; talking of which, I noticed outside my local Wetherspoons pub (where I used to work) a banner advertising their own version of Oktoberfest, which presumably consists of them getting lots of real ale in and selling it cheaper than usual (just like their beer festival last year) - not quite the real thing, is it? Well, seeing as my life here is clearly as thrilling as it was in Tanzania, I might just end this post now.
