Will somebody PLEASE turn the #%*!ING HEATING ON!!!

I'm bloody freezing in here. It wasn't so bad first thing because everybody else was in the office, but now they've all gone to a meeting and now my fingers are slowly freezing solid.

Made a coffee now. Mmm...warmth.

Went running with the Harriers last night. I suddenly started enjoying running again on Saturday, and then ran again on Sunday, and decided to go down the club yesterday. Hill session. What a way to start again. Felt surprisingly good, though, and I just feel a teensy-weensy bit stiff today, but not in any pain. I'm almost tempted to run the Exeter cross country on Thursday, but darn it, I've got a rehearsal.

My brother Tony's gone on a course this week so I've got my room back for a few days - will endeavour to tidy it tonight! He's decided he can't afford the flat in Okehampton now, so he's changed his mind again, and he's buying a house together with Nick in Exeter. Good news for me, because I get to live in Exeter now with cheap(ish) rent.

Went to see The Incredibles with Nick on Monday night, in Exmouth's luxury Savoy cinema (yes, it's sarcasm - well spotted) - I can't recommend it highly enough. It's very very funny and even better for adults than Pixar's previous masterpieces. And Adam turned down the opportunity to join us, because it's a "kids' film". Deary me.

When I'm in Exeter, I'll have a much better base from which to get involved in youth work and volunteer work. I'm definitely jacking in my current job at Exeter Uni in the New Year - the room booking half of my job is okay, but the stuff with hospitality services is an absolute joke. No one seems to have any idea what my role is supposed to be, just that someone is needed to help out. Help out with what? I just end up pissing around on the Internet half the time.

All the bosses around here, despite keeping me as a temp rather than giving me a contract, also seem to be assuming that I'm hanging around until I start my course next September, something I remember explicitly saying wouldn't happen. Seeing as they're shortstaffed because someone else has recently left, they're in for a shock in January.

I think I'll probably try and get some part time work, to cover my rent, and do some more challenging volunteer stuff. There's an organisation called The Ivy Project in Exeter that looks quite promising. I'll get in touch with them.
