Tanzania ditches private water supplier - via BBC News

"Tanzania has pulled the plug on a British and German-run company supplying water to the country's commercial capital, Dar es Salaam...

"Dar es Salaam's three million residents have increasingly had to cope with erratic supplies and water shortages, which have hit homes and businesses...

"Privatisation was a condition of Tanzania receiving debt relief from the World Bank."
Bloody World Bank. Yay privatisation! A cure-all for poverty! Hmm, yes, of course. I see they used pop music to promote privatisation too. As if Bongo Flava alone wasn't bad enough.

Well, it's generally a positive story, anyway.
