I started this blog as a travel-log after working as a volunteer with SPW in Tanzania for five months in 2004. Bwana Bomba was my nickname in the village; in English, it means "Mr Bombastic" (or "Mr Pump", but I assure you that in my case it means "Mr Bombastic").

Hatchard makes "pleasing debit"
So says the Exmouth Journal of my performance as the "eccentric and short-sighted Mr Butler" in Inspector Drake's Last Case. Glad my little bribe was appreciated.

Yes, they did. Last week they got several other names wrong, but mine was right.
Some other chap called Tony Hatchard was in the paper too today. He won some race or other, apparently. No idea who he is though...
