...but this takes the piss. The last train from Exeter to Birmingham on Friday leaves at 17.23. 17.23? What the smeg is that all about? The trains always used to go well into the evening. What the ****'s going on?
I'm going up for Russell's stag do on Saturday, but there are no trains early enough on Saturday morning (another surprise - I've caught trains as early as 3.30am before - what's happened to all of them?), so I have to go straight up after work on Friday, missing the Friday night rehearsal for the August play.
It seems to be that if you want to go to or from London, there is loads of choice and cheap tickets are rife, but if you want to travel between any other two destinations...
