I started this blog as a travel-log after working as a volunteer with SPW in Tanzania for five months in 2004. Bwana Bomba was my nickname in the village; in English, it means "Mr Bombastic" (or "Mr Pump", but I assure you that in my case it means "Mr Bombastic").

LONDON EXPLOSIONS
This is awful. Explosions on the tube and three buses.
This is quite disturbing. I've made quite few London friends lately through Join Me, several of whom I've met and hit it off very well with, but many also whose name I know through the forum, but am yet to meet. We're all going down to Brighton weekend after next. Horrible to think that any of them could have been caught up in it. Thankfully lots of familiar names have been checking in on the forums to say they're okay.
Just got a text from Vende (my placement partner in Tanzania). Don't really know where other ex-volunteers are at the moment - there's a few that could well be in London.

There have been reports of explosions on 4 buses and at 6 tube stations so far.
